Civil Discourse

I just want to remind all of you that we can’t have a conversation when everyone is screaming.

As I wrote about in my book “Angry Rants for Average Americans,” what we need is to work hard to re-take our government. We can’t do that if we are all yelling at one another.

Please remember to try to use this test when you’re talking to someone:

Ask yourself if the things you are saying are helping to advance the cause of reasonable discourse.

If not, maybe think about trying a different approach. It’s really important that we be as patient as we can, and try not to yell. I think the recent Republican debate is the perfect example of what not to do. Shouting gets us nowhere.
